Greensboro North Carolina Museums
History and science come together to tell the story of the people, plants and animals that call our state home today. During our stay, we took the opportunity to visit the North Carolina Museum of Natural History and the University of South Carolina at Chapel Hill.
Through interactive exhibits and artifacts, the Museum of History tells the chequered history of North Carolina, its people and natural resources through interactive exhibits. The museum highlights the civil rights movement in South Carolina, presents video presentations and exhibitions, and takes you through the lens of its history.
This downtown thrift store that has become a contemporary art museum has helped position Greensboro as a destination for traveling artists, writers, musicians and other creative people. The main attraction in Greensborough is the pristine Greenboro Science Center, which houses the world's largest collection of wolf crews and wolf bones. In addition to amazing animals from around the world, you can walk with prehistoric dinosaurs in the center's museum and embark on oceanic adventures through the interactive SciPlay in the Bay exhibit. Also on the list of North Carolina's top museums and attractions are the Greenville Museum of Natural History and UNC - Chapel Hill Museum and Library.
The Greensboro Children's Museum, located downtown on North Church Street, is designed to encourage people to participate - to learn through thoughtful play. Presented by the North Carolina Museum of Natural History and UNC - Chapel Hill Museum and Library, it includes a wide variety of exhibits that can take you to Greensborough. It houses the world's largest collection of children's books, toys and books, as well as an interactive exhibition on the history of science and technology.
